Why DAFA

Direct Aid for Africa (DAFA) was founded in 1996 with the sole purpose of supporting the underprivileged people of Zambia. We are a non-political, non-sectarian organisation and are different from other charities in that nothing comes off the top, every penny of every donation goes straight to Zambia.

How do we achieve this? Not only do all volunteers give their time for free; DAFA operates a unique NGO - Public Partnership as the charity will fund the projects and the Zambian government will then run them.

DAFA aims to:

01.

Support community-based economic development projects, focusing on education, healthcare and self-help

02.

Give underpriviledged children the opportunity of obtaining an education and access to shelter and daily feeding programmes

03.

Give communities access to healthcare and medication

Message from the Founder

"I am now in the twilight of my life and I have been granted a great privilege by God to live my dream: helping people less well off than ourselves. DAFA has been in operation for over 20 years and at the moment we are working on a plan to carry on for the next 20 years.

If you can help – it will allow thousands of Zambians to live their dreams too. Remember they are also human beings with all the same thoughts and dreams that we have.

A wise man once said: “it is in the giving, we receive”. I believe he was 100% correct. I have never been happier; it’s the best thing by far I have done in my life.”
